Holly Hill Farm Equestrian Team
Holly Hill Farm is pleased to announce the introduction of our Interscholastic Equestrian Team for City of Avon Lake and the surrounding areas. Holly Hill Farm is an active member of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association. As part of our team, riders will participate in weekly group or private lessons and practices to prepare for the show season. Equestrian team members practice at Holly Hill Farm 1-2 times per month and compete from September to April. We compete at five regular season shows to earn points to qualify to compete at Zones. The top finishers at Zones then move on to compete at Regionals and Nationals.
To compete in the IEA, riders do not need to own their own horses. Team members practice on school horses at Holly Hill Farm. Riders compete on the flat and over fences on horses provided by host schools. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please visit www.rideiea.com. If you or your child would like to participate, please contact us.
About IEA
The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) concept was drawn from the highly successful Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) in order to prepare high school and middle school students for college level riding. The IEA prides itself on introducing students to the equestrian industry and therefore provides competitive riding for the novice level rider (walk, trot, and canter) all the way up to the more advanced open divisions.
Through the IEA, students also have the opportunity to win scholarships towards their college education. In addition, the IEA provides students the opportunity to be recognized by college coaches and recruiters. Last year's IEA riders were offered over $125,000 in college scholarships.
